installing a graphical interface

hi, i installed the minimum package for RH 9.0. Now i need a graphical interface, such as xwindows or gnome (or are they the same thing?)

can somebody please teach me how to install xwindows or gnome via text command line? thank you in advance

X is a framework for GUIs to run on. Gnome runs on top of X. And it's X Window, not xwindows. There are two branches of the system now, XFree86 and X.org. Most major Linux distros seem to have shifted to X.org.

You can find all the information you need on those two sites, but if you're running Red Hat I'd suggest using the RPM packages.
