I am a total newbie at this and I have no idea. I want to make a partition on my Windows XP laptop for Fedora Core 3. What do I do?

Use something like Parition Magic to create a second (empty) partition.
Then merely install your Linux distro into that now available space.

Cheers.

Some distributions (mainly the large one's, I know that SuSe and I think Mandrake) automatically ask you if you want to use the empty space to create a Linux Partition. I'm not sure but I think Fedora Coore can do this too.

Have you tried booting up the Installation CD's?
