Internet Connection and SuSE

First off I'm fairly new to linux but i hope to learn. My problem is i just set up SuSE 8.2 Pro on my pc and I cant figure out how to configure my cable internet connection(through linksys router) and i was wondering if anyone can offer some tips or articles on how to do this. thanx

Are you wanting to configure for a static IP or a DHCP? and do you know all your info such as subnet mask, etc?
