Launching Slackware for the first time

I have the installtion set up right and it boots up until it get to the Activating Hardware Detection /etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug start part then it just stops have no clue what can be causing this does anybody else?

I did also experience this problem in Ubuntu (debian based linux).....But I already pin point the cause.....my video card is not supported by ubuntu..so, when it boot up and detects the HW...and starts the hotplug it halts. What I did is I use my motherboards built-in video adapter. I boot up again, problem solve...after that...I immediately download nvidia supported driver using apt-get ......voila.....

And your case...I think you have hardware incompatibility issues. try removing some unsupported devices you have like the one mention or something like that.
