Hello, and first lemme say hi to everyone. HI

Ok, I have a machine running red hat 9, and I need it to use a shared internet connection comming off of a computer running windows xp.

I have alredy read all the stuff about sharing a connection when Linux is the host. But how do I share the connection when the windows computer is the host. Thanks

You'll need to install some kind of proxy software on your windows machine.

It's easy. I'm assuming that you have two network cards in the xp machine.

Go to the primary ethernet card in network connections. Right click on it and go to properties.

Check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection"

Then take a crossover cable from the secondary ethernet card to the ethernet card in the linux box. Set up the linux box like you would normally, it will never know the difference.
