Don't give up! They say "If at first you don't succeed, try, and try again." You must not be real interested in making it at all if you give up that easy. It all has to do with paying attention to detail and not typing so fast that you get noodle fingers (#1 cause of people locking themselves out of their accounts), and everything will eventually work.

So then laying on your couch with your laptop in front of the tv with a bowl of soup is the perfect time to read anarchySI's article.

no lol i havent got a laptop but thats does sound good :) haha anyways

i get confused right at the start when it says

Code: [ Select ]
emerge squashfs-tools cdrtools
cd ~
mkdir -p ~/livecd/source
  1. emerge squashfs-tools cdrtools
  2. cd ~
  3. mkdir -p ~/livecd/source

that means nothing to me lol

"emerge" is Gentoo's installation program, so that's saying (paraphrased):
  • install squashfs-tools and cdrtools.
  • change directory to your home directory ("~" is the shortcut for your home directory - /home/your_username)
  • Create a livecd/source directory in your home directory, so you have /home/your_username/livecd/source/
