mandrake 9.0 - need help opening ports

25 and 110 specifically - don't know why they were not set to open when i put the OS on the box but services are running with closed ports. i can't seem to figure out how to open them - any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Do you have a firewall running on the box?

Normally when a service is running, the post which the service needs is automatically open. I don't think what yiou described is posible unless you have a firewall running. Make sure about it.
