I've recently installed Fedora 7 but I can not find a working MP3 player. I've tried Zinf but I cant get that to install, and I tried XMMS and couldnt get that to install either. Help?

have you tried amarok? if not, i would suggest it.
i haven't tried F7 yet myself, but you should be able to search the repo's for "mp3" and get a list of players / plugins..

the system updater. you have a choice of yum or apt, at least as far as i read, and both have search capabilities.

Pretty much every media player in that comes with Fedora can play mp3's. However, Fedora does not package any mp3 codecs with the distribution because they want to keep everything open source, and mp3 is proprietary.

You'll have to download mp3 codecs online. Do a google search for "fedora mp3".

so when i previously read the post, i dont think i read it as thoroughly as i originally believed. when you said you tried to install them, how were you attempting that? the system has a package manager which you can use to install, remove, and update software. were you trying to download and compile the programs from source? because thats the hard way :]
but do as spork suggested and that should give instructions about in which menu you'll find the package manager and what to do to get the codecs installed.
