Multimedia for RedHat 9.x

Just recently installed RH on my everydday computer to find lack in multimedia support. I need to know what to use for streaming videos and i tried configuring xmms on my computer but still no luck playing mp3s. All help is greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you

Try Mplayer. It can play all types of files.

for xmms to play mp3 you should have an extra plugin. coz xmms wont support mp3 due to patent problem. you can download it from the net.. around 1.2mb.
