Is there anyway to force a machine/bios that only boots from CD to boot from DVD,

I was wanting to install Solaris 10 and I would prefer not to burn 5/6 CDs, just one DVD.

Is there a BIOS update available for that machine?

as long as you have a dvd drive, the statement "boot to cd" is antiquated and if yo u set it to this option, it will try booting from your cd and/or dvd rom drive before booting from the hard disk or floppy (whichever you have set next in the boot order)

Solaris (IMHO) is the largest compounded mistake Sun ever made.

They flip-flop back and forth between SysV and BSD, they have no identity, and the code is bloatware.

Sun would have been far wiser to concentrate on good hardware and a sparc port of FreeBSD.

Oh, sorry ... off topic. Rant over.
