opera bittorrent

Hi, i'm trying to get the opera bittorrent to work but I'm not good with iptables and don't know what port to open to allow good transfer, if anyone know, please advised. Thanks

ps. any tutorials on learning more about iptables

What's the difference between iptables input & forward? and which one is better for bittorrent, chain method in input or forward?
