perl with DBD::mysql problems

Are you sure when you do this step;

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe –user=mysql &

That it is actually running?

Type;
Code: [ Select ]
ps -aef |grep mysql


If nothing returns, it's not running to begin with.

Let's start there.
