I have just downloaded a rpm package to play movie files. It's called xine. The file is called "xine-lib-1.0.0-0.2.rc1.fr.src.rpm". But I can't install it in RH9. It says it can't read the package or I don't have enough permission to open it. However I logged in as root.
Can anyone tell me how I can do it? :?

do...

rpm -Uvh xine-lib-1.0.0-0.2.rc1.fr.src.rpm

if it doesn't install, then chances are there are dependencies unavailable (meaning you may have to install something else first for this to install), or there's an incompatibility with an existing installed library/application version.
