I was wondering why every time I search for linux installation guide, they recommend swap must two times the RAM size,

why 2? why not three? 4?

Just wondering :?:

I may be wrong, but two times will allow the operating system to unload the contents of RAM into the swap partition with plenty of room to spare. The 2x is just a recommendation, technically you could do 1000x or even no swap at all.
Like Mr Spork, I also write about my interest in alcoholic beverages.
