You have to use a password at some point unless the account your using to access the server doesn't have a password.

In a nutshell what you'll do us move to your /home/user/.ssh directory on the system that will do the connecting, use ssh-keygen to generate a public/private key pair, then copy the contents of the public key to the authorized_keys file in the .ssh directory of the system being connected to.
