remote desktop?

Is there a way to remote desktop to a linux computer? if so can it be windows connecting to linux, or only linux to linux? if there is a way, can i do it online, like windows can?

Uh, you mean aside from say, ssh2? You mean, actually getting the desktop?

I am not entirely certain why anyone would want to do that; CLI would be more responsive and more efficient.

However, you can use VNC for Linux.

thx, il use vnc, im just running a seperate machine as a web server and i usally just like to remote desktop connect instead of going to it.

You can load x windows sessions on a windows system remotly using software that is available commercially. I cannot remember the name of the software however ill remember it and update this post shortly.

After setting up VNC just the other day I can reccomend this link.

However the box I was accessing does not have access to the outside world, If your web server does face the outside world, then I'd make sure you understand the security implications of opening up ports on that box before going ahead.

Yes, VNC viewer is useful but it is really very slow, there is a software now that is faster than VNC. If u are using Redhat Entereprise Linux 4 there is a built-in Remote Desktop just like the one of the windows.

Hello!? It's Linux right? Again, I will ask... why not just ssh2 to the box? Do you really need the GUI to manage the resource? I would hope not.
