Hi,
I am new to this field....I recently installed Solaris 10 in a machine. However I am not able to find a domain name for that. In fact it seems to have a rather wierd IP addres...somehting like ffff: 127.0.0.1 when I checked up the host info in the Solaris CDE.
Please help me with this one.
Thanks!

The 127.0.0.1 is your loopback address; you're supposed to have one of those.

If you are connected to a LAN and have dhcp enabled, you should pick up an IP on your ethernet interface.

open a console and type
ifconfig -a

It should then report to you each interface (including the loopback).
