top level configuration file for the BIND name server?

Can anyone help me with what the top level configuration file for the BIND name server is called?

check for a file called named.conf
to do so, you could run: locate named.conf
if it says your database isn't up to date, su to root and run: updatedb
then run the locate command again

what distro are you running?
