Tracking down libraries for installing software packages that are less mainstream cain be daunting at times.

Who's got some tips and tricks for locating libraries?

Anyhow, I'm trying to find version 1.2 not version 1.2.* of these libraries and I'm having a difficult go of it.
libsdl-dev
libsdl-image-dev
libsdl-mixer-dev
libsdl-net-dev
libsdl-ttf-dev (may report as version 2.0)
timidity

Program I want to install is QB64 which is an old school style blue screen BASIC editor. Why BASIC? Just because.

But anyway any tips on locating libs would be awesome. :D
