Hi, I have had exactly the same problem as DrkWrz and am also using SUSE 10.0 and also have an Atheros AR5005G wifi card.

I have installed Ndiswrapper and configured it with the driver I copied from c:/windows/atheros, but when it doesn't work. From the terminal, I get this error message:

Quote:
sam@linux:~> su
Password:
linux:/home/sam # modprobe ndiswrapper
linux:/home/sam # dmesg | grep ndiswrapper
ndiswrapper: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
ndiswrapper version 1.2 loaded (preempt=no,smp=yes)
ndiswrapper: driver net5211 (,05/26/2005,4.1.2.71) loaded
ndiswrapper: request for irq 0 failed
ndiswrapper (NdisWriteErrorLogEntry:314): log: C000009A, count: 4 (e94c6000), return address: ed436bd6
ndiswrapper (ndiswrapper_add_pci_device:218): Windows driver couldn't initialize the device (C0000001)
ndiswrapper: probe of 0000:09:04.0 failed with error -22
linux:/home/sam #

What's wrong? Thanks in advance.

Samji.

I've got exactly the same problem as u had.,..

cant seem to go wireless, Atheros AR5005G wifi card.

I've installed openSuse 10.3 and this card is recognised as an ethernet card. I installed madwifi and ndiswrapper through Yast.

Network Manager would still show me card as an ethernet card.

I have managed to install the windows driver using:-

ndiswrapper -i /windows/c....../driver.inf

I then checked the Network manager, it still shows as an ethernet card. I dont know what I need to do now. I was wondering if u could share how u fixed the problem.

thanks a million.
