just got a new hp dv6000 with Vista Home Premium, shrinked the C: drive and used 20Gig for my Ubuntu! so far its going well, installed Opera to it (my fav browser)

I do abit of web designing as a hobby so i thought i'd try and run apache/php/mysql to test my php scripts on so thought i'd ask around first before i do it...

i'm quite new to Linux environment so can anyone give me directions or suggestions on where i can score a good package for this Ubuntu?

is it possible to get an I.E. like browser also for Linux (Ubuntu in specific)? just for testing purposes...

Apache/PHP/MySQL are all probably already installed and running on your Ubuntu installation. Try opening http://localhost with your web browser - if you can see a page, then Apache is already running.

If this works, then you can start right away - just put your files in /var/www/html and you should be up and running!
