uninstalling a device

i installed a pci network card and linux on start up found it and it recomended a driver i just selected configer and it loaded normally. now i have installed the proper driver i dont know how to tell the device that this is the proper driver. so i figured uninstall the device and reinsatll should work . right ?

try to type in the console as root

modprobe "your driver"

perhaps that will work
