I just noticed that Ubunto 11.04 is out... my version of Ubuntu on my machine is 10.10... is there any way to upgrade it to 11.4 without loosing my files or do I have to back up my files and reinstall Ubuntu? If so, do I just put the CD in there and let it do the work, or do I need to do something else before I can do that?

Ubuntu is pretty good about telling you about updates. You don't have to format or anything to upgrade, but its always a good idea to back up important files if something does go wrong.

Code: [ Select ]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
  1. sudo apt-get update
  2. sudo apt-get upgrade
#define NULL (::rand() % 2)

I did that and it took like an hour updating and upgrading, but when I go to "About ubuntu" it tells me I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (The one I tried to update it from).
