hi, this may be way out of line as i dont have time to read the forum outlines..
but i'll ask anyway

can anyone answer some linux questions for me? i have homework due tomorrow on linux and i dont know the answers. if you answer this stuff for me i'll paypal you $5

i think its pretty basic stuff if you know linux well.

There's no way I or anyone else is going to do this for you, even if it is allowed by the rules.... $5 -> £2.50 -> about 10 mins. I suppose it could be done.

Anyway, I'm more interested to know, what level of school/country are you in that's asking linux-based questions? It was never even available on the facilities until I went to uni, and even then, we were expected to learn it for ourselves (though most knew how already).

Care to share?

i'd rather not say where im from, but its first year university level.
my course is web design, and linux happens to be a compulsory subject that all IT first year students have to do, whether they like it or not.

i know i should learn this myself, but the things due tomorrow :|
