Ok, I know this gets annoying and yeah maybe I could have sieved through a lot of posts and maybe found and answer but hopefully you'll all be both forgiving and patient.

I am considering dedicating a laptop to PHP coding, I want to also learn Linux so what I am thinking of doing is both of these at the same time.

What I want is a basic version of Linux to use with the classic AMP setup and a halfway decent text editor with PHP/MySQL syntax highlighter, I don't think I really need anything else.

What would you guys and girls suggest for me to use?
