I can't get a PCI wifi card to install on ubuntu.

Do I need some sort of emulation of windows?

Now, now, be nice to the noob

To the OP: You can't run Windows programs under Linux, including drivers, unless they were written in some cross-platform language. The Windows and Linux kernels are *very* different from each other, each operating system does things completely differently. Just because you have a windowing environment under Ubuntu doesn't mean it's running the patented Microsoft Windows.

Also, a quick search of your network card on google gives this as the first result (entered "linux ZyXEL G-302v2" into the search field):

For future reference, try using google before making a post, you'll likely get a faster, more pertinent response.

ha ha i think we all had a good laugh. at least it's nice to see more people showing interest in trying out linux. by the way scars you might want to also look around the ubuntu forums if ever a problem arises. chances are its been asked and solved before more than once.
