excellent news for the ubuntu commmunity. it can only raise their profile and help ensure it's continued success. i read a few months ago that a countries police-force had decided to swap-over. although i can't remember the country right now :(

Well, not always. There is no perfect OS nor server. Windows, Linux and Unix all have something to offer, both on the client side and server side.

A few weeks ago I was installing a security camera system with my uncle in a motel, and I noticed that all their computers had ubuntu. In fact, the computer we put in that is basically a DVR for the cameras is the only windows computer they have now. Thats pretty cool.
My water bottles froze as I rode, as did my beard. Beards sure keep you warm,
but can be socially embarrassing when you start to defrost mid conversation.

I agree, interesting but not really surprising considering the type of content they are hosting. If you put it on a MS package you'd increase your maintenence time significantly not to mention policing the regular updates to cover the security flaws.
