I am using the "xbithack" on my server. I have been setting the permissions of my files to 745. I've recently read that 744 is proper. I also recently read that 755 enables "caching" which you want to avoid, if the server is set to have xbithack's enabled.

Can anyone give me clear advice on which permissions I should be using? I realize that enabling xbithack on the server affects what the bits do, from what they normally do I mean. Obviously, the "x-bit" function is changed, but it seems to change the functions of other bits as well.

I'm going to continue to research this, but if you have anything to help me out with, I'd love it!
