Embedded Windows Media Player

How can I insert an embedded Windows Media Player to play .wmv/.avi videos. I also would like the player to have a playlist allowing viewers to select different videos on one player.
Any help/directions/advice is appreciated.

Thanks. But do you know how to include a playlist on the player?

Playlists are used by making an asx file. Here is an example of an asx file:

You can add as many entries as you need. Once you have this tped out, save the file as "whatever.asx". Then use that as the URL in the embed code that I gave you earlier.

I want a playlist of videos that a viewer so a viewer can chose which video to watch while keeping everything on one page.

i would stay away from windows media and go with flash FLV, convert your video into an FLV and do the rest in Flash, its faster, cleaner, and all flash based, windows media stinks if you ask me

I understand that media player isn't the best but for the time being it is all that I have. I can't afford to buy the software to convert to flash format. I have Draemwever8, Director8, and Fireworks3 but can’t find anything on how to convert with these programs.

I have a grandfather that wants to see the Taekwondo that he has been paying for and wmv is all I have for now.

I had a look at what you want and i have got it for you. The way it works is its displays a webpage in the selected area eg: his playlist is a page of its own as is each player so when you click on say....Video 1 it opens the page that has the player playing video 1.

How:

Create a folder for your test player. you need to make four html pages.
1= index.html (main Page)
2= loading.html (preview Page)
3= playlist.html (playlist)
4= video1.html (video 1 page)

Codes: paste theese into said pages, change where required.

This thread is a real life saver, thanks! This is my dillema for days. I have a hard time placing a video player without messing out on the site code as I am fairly new and learning to all of these. Glad I came to the right boards.
