Did Internet Explorer ever actually pass the ACID2 test ? :scratchhead:
I know Opera and Safari did. Did anything else ?
I wonder what the first browser to pass ACID3 will be.

Quote:
The Acid3 Test is designed to test specifications for Web 2.0, and exposes potential flaws in implementations of the public ECMAScript 262 and W3C Document Object Model 2 standards. Collectively known as DOM Scripting, it is these technologies that enable advanced page interactivity and power many advanced web applications such as web-based email and online office applications.

Here's some standings on alot of browsers progress. Looks like Safari is way out in the lead with 90% at the moment. Mac appears to be the dominant OS.

The fact that IE5.5 does better than IE6 and IE7 on ACID3 just blows my mind.

Yeah that's really strange.. but what has the OS for effect on the browser? I know it makes a difference, I just don't see why..

Browsers generally use an API provided by the OS to accomplish some things. Not all OS API's are created equal.

Looks like Opera was the first to pass, then Web-kit, then Opera was knocked to second place when a bug was discovered in the test.

Opera got robbed.

What do they use to make the acid tests? :scratchhead:

They cant really "test" it to see if it works. If they did, then they would be building to a specific browser.

The Web-kit people apparently couldn't get something to work right, investigated it, brought it up to the ACID test guy, & he declared it a bug.

It was something about a missing space after a comma.

It knocked Opera back to 99/100 momentarily.
