Ok here I am again ;)

I am looking for a way to add a sound when you go over the link or click on it. I have looked everywhere and can't find anything useful. Can this only be done with flash??

It can be done with JavaScript.. I did it once on a site a few years ago, but it got to be WAY too annoying, so I took it off, heh.

I can't remember the code off-hand, though.

lol Wow you replied fast ;)

Ok well that gives me hope atleast ;) Yes I can see where it could be annoying. But I just want to use it for my opening page for my site, a neat little storm pic with a storm sound.

I actually got the idea from a flash thing but as I can't do that I am just trying to come up with something else. Thanks ;)

Lol, try not to puke when you go to the site, but it has what you're looking for:

There ya go, there's one using JavaScript.

You might also want to add some code to pre-cache the sound files (same way you do with images on rollovers), to speed things up a bit - otherwise, when they put their mouse over the link, they've clicked n' moved on before the sound file's downloaded, heh.

The javascript solution is probably better. The link Geekette offered is Java and probably overkill.
