IP address showing in address bar

Hi, new to the board, (great resource so far)
Here's my delima. I type my domain name in, it finds the host, but instead of showing the domain in the address bar, it shows the IP of the host, and the path of the page. I just want it to show the domain.
Never came across this before so I'm confused as to what to do
