the question is worded in past tense, so I voted 10+ because I have had
literally 30+ free accounts going at one time. Remembr the old
geocities days, when we could hotlink? aww man, that was great.

Anyway, I have my own server now (technically), so I would never use
one again.

the free hosts of old are so bad now with popups and layered ads. it's
really bad. Hosting is so cheap now, it's just unacceptable to not have
real hosting any more.

When I first started in about 1998, I had numerous sites on free hosts. Back then I didn't have the funds to support my own domains or my own servers. Today I have nothing on free hosts.

I still have stuff on freehosts, I just never update it and for some reason it never gets deleted, so everyso often I look back and say...."What was I thinking?"

unflux.com is my only current site that I claim to be all mine. There's
quite a few that I designed tho. Not all of them are listed on my site
because of confidentiality reasons.

http://www.archive.org is where you will find archives of old websites. A friend of mine was in a band and I found their old website. :wink:

i'm with unflux - Ive had a heap of Geocities sites... most of them are gone although there are a few that are still around, and some get over 60 hits a day (avatar site)

These days I have 2 hosting accounts, one for my personal website and one for my business. :D
