I'm looking to make some banners/buttons for linking purposes and I was just wondering if there are "standard" sizes that tend to get used. I'm gonna make a few sizes/variations but I thought I would check if there are any common sizes that I should be looking at in particular?

There's the 88 X 31 (give or take 2 pixels) link button that seems to be popular for partner purposes :D
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

thanks guys, I think I was looking more for buttons more than banners lol, something a little smaller than most of the ones suzie mentioned - didn't make myself clear lol

I think I will be just making a couple of designs and do various sizes and let people choose.

yeah, I wonder just how the 88x31 dimension got established anyway

90x60 is also sort of common for small ones

the standard buttons sizes from what i've always known to be are 88x31 and 120x60. Banners are generally 468x60.

For advertisting, I'm used to 88x31 and 468x60(unless you use frames or something...sideway scrolling is annoying). I see 88x31 a lot more often nowadays.

heehee, yeah, I noticed that too and have no intention to register to see the examples, since I can figure out the sizes in pixels on my own...but they all looked about right to me.
