I am aware and have used CubeCart, OSCommerce and other Open Source shopping carts.

However I am aware of the obvious security issues that an Open Source system will have, and was wondering what is the best most secure system around, not Open Source.

Thanks.

?

Aren't Open Source systems inherently MORE secure? There are tons of people looking at the code, so every possible hole has to be plugged.

You buy a closed-source system, and it's possible the vendor will be quietly sitting on an exploit for years.

I see where your coming from, and that makes perfect sense to me. Maybe I have been wrong, but I have always heard Open Source systems are in secure.

I haven't used CubeCart, but I can say they do seem to bring out security related updates fairly regularly as I've subscribed to the newsletter. This is probably a good indication that they're on top of their software's potential problems.

Try zeuscart.com

Beside all other features this software is based on PHP Smarty templates, this makes it very flexible and easy to modify. For more details http://www.zeuscart.com/
