Will it be useful to learn how to use <canvas>? I don't know if it's used often professionally since it's completely incompatible with IE.

<canvas> Is one on the new HTML5 Elements and it would be useful to know later on for now at least W3C shows IE 9+ supports it http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_canvas.asp

IE 9 and 10 support canvas. Where did you hear otherwise?
