creating a message box

I am wanting to create a message board on my website http://www.theoutdoorprofessionals.com I know how to create a message board, but I want to create a box on my home page that will show the most recent messages posted. I noticed this on a site and I really like it. The site I am referencing is http://www.rockclimbing.com If you know how to do this or can direct me to how to do this, I would appreciate it.

i can't reverse engineer it, as that would be illegal and very time consuming, but i can tell you it looks like an implementation of php.

What message board are you using? If you're using PHPBB, search for something like:

PHPBB mods

or:

PHPBB hacks

(Of course, replace "PHPBB" with the name of the bullitin board you're using)

When you find a site that looks promising, search that site for what you're looking for.
