You can get your hands on a lot of old browsers over at evolt.org's broswer archive: http://browsers.evolt.org/

As for getting new versions and old versions to work simultaneously - well, that's a bit tougher.

For Internet Explorer, I'd recommend Tredosoft's Multiple IE's: http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE - It installs pre-IE 7 versions of IE (you can pick which ones, if you don't want them all) in a manner that allows them to run alongside IE 7 (or IE 8 beta, which has the ability to emulate IE 7, so you don't need both), so you can run IE 6 and 7/8 at once.

For Firefox, the best method I know of is you install the Portable edition of Firefox on your computer (instead of on a USB drive), in a folder set aside for it (i.e. C:\Program Files\Special Firefox\). The portable edition won't effect your normal install (or vice-versa), so you can run both without any problems (you cannot, however, have both processes running at the same time). Right now you can still get Firefox 2 Portable Edition from: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - I'd hurry, as I expect it to be replaced once 3 Portable is ready (though there are probably other places to get it).

In the case of other browsers, such as Safari, a little Googling will probably provide you with some solutions.
