Hello all and thank you for reading this post.

I have been scouring google to find code to do the following (but have had no success):

I would like to have the actual background image of my webpage fade in on page load, whilst having the other elements of the website appear immediately.
I have found code that only applies to sections or tables of the page - but I need it for the actual (tiled) background.
I have found java for a general colour fade but it looks strange and will not work with a css background applied.

Perhaps a layer over the background could fade in?
Not sure how this would be achieved either.

Any help offered would be most appreciated.

time to look into jQuery There are plenty of events in there that will help you achieve the fade affect.

Graphixboy , I agree with you.
jQuery make code short and simple. It handle events, perform animations, and also add Ajax interactions to your web pages more easily.
