I am new to web design and have recently purchased Dreamweaver. I would love to find a free tutorial or some sites that someone could recommend that have concise clear tips for using various functions of it. I learned the few things I know from my dad, who is self-taught and he uses tables for everything to with spacing. Along with many issues that I have yet to encounter, one issue that sticks out is spacing my text without having to create a new table. It was suggested to me that CSS could help with that. However, I know nothing about CSS. Does anyone have any help for me? :?:

Please don't spam your own site. The poster asked for CSS help. Not a Dreamweaver spam post.

w3schools.com is excellent for learning CSS. I am usually available here via PM, or if you use MSN Messenger you can add me and I will be happy to help.

Also, go to your local library or bookstore. There is a book titled: "How to Do Everything with Dreamweaver 8" Thats the latest. You can find it on amazon as well:
http://www.amazon.com/How-Do-Everything ... 48&sr=8-11

I read each one that comes out to make sure I stay current, easy read, and VERY helpfull and easy to understand tutorials on building and creating with CSS, and whatever else.

Good luck to you! Need help just ask :)

Well the videos do show how to use CSS with Dreamweaver. Sorry though didn't mean to spam I really thought it could help her and there are free videos that cover that topic.

But without seeing them I would say create a new CSS sheet in dreamweaver and then use the link to external CSS function.

Then experiment with adding class tags to various parts of your page such as hyperlinks or td tags.

Dreamweaver + CSS is really neat and easy to use.

As ATNO/TW said w3schools.com is good to learn css and I must agree there. And to get your text spacing without text there is a function in css called margin. guess what it does?

Here is some examples of it`s use:

I hope that solves one of the issues

I am also new to Dreamweaver and suffered the same dilema. I found "The Missing Manual" series very good. The book I purchase is called "Dreamweaver MX 2004: The Missing Manual."

Hope this helps. Good luck!
