Hello

I am not to smart when it comes to dreamweaver so be warned if this sounds unedumacated.

I am doing simple updates to my company webpage

http://www.symmetryinfo.com

and it seems that when i upload the work that i have just done something happens, the page does not upload and no one in the network can view the page but, people outside the network can.

Is this a typical problem for dreamweaver and does anyone know how to fix it?

I hope that is enough information.

thanks
walter

Hey Walter,

I think I may have the answer for you...
But realise it could be any of a number of things.

if people outside the company can see the new pages, but people inside cannot...
then I would put it down to a caching issue in the company.

Ie their locally cached copy of the file is the old one, not the updated one.

Pressing CTRL/F5 (in IE) will force the download of the new copy and disregard what is in the cache.

Smimlarly, you can set options in Netscape/IE to check for new pages everytime you visit, or weekly or some other schedule. Check these settings and make the appropriate changes to force a new download of the pages.

If I have misread your post, or this doesn't fix the problem, let me know and I will give a few more options to try.

Thanks for the reply, but I have decided that the problem most likely has to do with the DNS servers we are using. They are pointing us to a different site when we go to http://www.symmetryinfo.com Everyone else has an updated DNS server that points them to the server our web site is hosted on and so they have no problem. Now I just need to figure out what DNS servers we should be using.

Thanks again!
