Dropdown Menu goes behind select box

Hi to All,

The sub menus goes behind the drop down list in IE6 how do i avoid this.

How can this be fixed?

routhu, can you give some more details here, it's a little difficult to answer your question without enough information ... maybe a sample piece of code, or a link ...

what you could try so long is adjusting the z-index so that the menu is above the dropdown part ...
Let's leave all our *plum* where it is and go live in the jungle ...

The only solution I've ever seen for this situation is to avoid the situation.

Apparently IE6 uses an active-x control to actually sit in for a select box, it's what's called a "windowed control". It allows IE to utilize the Windows built-in select boxes, but it prevents webpage authors from making anything display on top of it.

It's been awhile since I've heard of the issue though, someone may have thought of some sort of work around by now.

There is a way around this in IE6 (only place the issue occurs to my knowledge) using empty iFrames and a bunch of css.

I've used this method with some success...
