Hello,
I'm sorry to post about this when there's a sticky just above but I'm in a real hurry and panic and don't have time to read all that's covered in it. Please, please, excuse me and please read this.

I wanted to ask, is there a way to use a remotely-hosted Favicon.ico since my host doesn't allow .ico files upload.

And, alternatively, since I need it just for IE, (16x16), is there any other file format, like .png or .gif or something that can work if the Favico is not in .ico file format and how do I do that?

It only can work in .ico format as far as I know.

Your host doesn't allow? Are you sure?

I'm not sure about remote-server favicon. I sensibly doubt so.

You could try uploading the image as a jpg or whatever and then change the file extension once it is uploaded.

Thank you all.
Yes, my host lets only .html, .htm, .swf, .gif, .png, .jpg and .bmp files to be uploaded. Respectively, created, edited or renamed. I tried changing it from .jpg to .ico but it deleted automatically a.k.a. evaporated from my file manager.

It's evil. Allows to have a whole unlimited number SQL databases and supposedly you can run PHP and CGI but.. so far.. my contact forms have suffered the same fate as the Favicon.ico.

It's a free host after all.. T_T

So have you got it worked now?
It never was the host fault to allow only .html etc. You always have to convert your image to .ico through some free website that offers.
You can't change it by yourself.

My next mission is to find out how to make my own contact form (since all of a sudden my .php files decided to SHOW UP can you believe it), that's not like those free generator ones but.. well, I'm going to see what the sctipting forum has on php and how to make a form myself, in my free host's subdomain, for free, that looks something like this (AND works): https://ss1.xrea.com/www.owaku.com/ashield/mailf/write.html
