My alt tags text on my web sites are not appearing on mouse hover in FF. The appear just fine in IE7. Any direction on why this occurs would be appreciated.

alt tags are not meant to be displayed. They are for screen-readers and stuff; IE shows them however. If you want the same effect in FF then you need to use the "title" attribute.

Code: [ Select ]
<img title="foobar" src="foo.png" alt="foobar" />

As usual, that's because Firefox interprets the HTML correctly. The alt attribute is only supposed to display, when the image can't be found. For the popup text to appear, use the title attribute:
Code: [ Select ]
<img src="images/pic.jpg" alt="Picture of something" title="This is a picture of something"/>
