I am having a strange problem on IE 5.2 on Mac 10.3 while using the following sample piece of code:

Code: [ Select ]
<table border="1" width="100%" bordercolor="#FFFFFF" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" >
<TR class = "acctcolhdr">
<TD ALIGN="center">
<A HREF="JavaScript:openHelpWin('/CEFSWebApp/pophelp.do?helpKey=plannumber');" onMouseover="showtip(this,event,'<%= helpLink %>')" onMouseout="hidetip()">
Plan<BR>Number
</A></TD>
<TD ALIGN="center">
<A HREF="JavaScript:openHelpWin('/CEFSWebApp/pophelp.do?helpKey=purchasedatelong');" onMouseover="showtip(this,event,'<%= helpLink %>')" onMouseout="hidetip()">
Purchase<BR>Date<BR>10/15/2004>
</A></TD>
  1. <table border="1" width="100%" bordercolor="#FFFFFF" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" >
  2. <TR class = "acctcolhdr">
  3. <TD ALIGN="center">
  4. <A HREF="JavaScript:openHelpWin('/CEFSWebApp/pophelp.do?helpKey=plannumber');" onMouseover="showtip(this,event,'<%= helpLink %>')" onMouseout="hidetip()">
  5. Plan<BR>Number
  6. </A></TD>
  7. <TD ALIGN="center">
  8. <A HREF="JavaScript:openHelpWin('/CEFSWebApp/pophelp.do?helpKey=purchasedatelong');" onMouseover="showtip(this,event,'<%= helpLink %>')" onMouseout="hidetip()">
  9. Purchase<BR>Date<BR>10/15/2004>
  10. </A></TD>
The table headers show only first line and cuts off the rest of the text.
So I only see the words "Plan" and "Purchase" in the first and second column respectively. Now if I remove the <A HREF...> it looks fine but I must have the link enabled.
Safari broswers (1.0 & 1.2) don't have this problem.
Any ideas?

Take out the <br>'s and let the tables wordwrap depending on the browser size. See if that works.

Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work.
On further investigation, I found out that it's the combination of using the class 'acctcolhdr' and having '<A HREF...>' that's causing this. In other words, if I don't use that class or remove the hyperlink, it works fine. Unfortunately, I can do neither.

Never mind - I played around with it and it works now.
Thanks for your help.
