hi,

my site, when i click on a link (which clearly says http://www.domain.com) it automatically changes to http://domain.com/hello

why?

Why does it change automatically? The URL is very clearly www. and not just http://

example:
i hover with my mouse over a link it says "http://www.domain.com/contact" when i click on it, in the address bar it says http://domain.com/contact". Where did the www go?

What may be the cause?

Thanks in Advance

the "www" is not essential for the internet. I think that it is a server which is doing that. "http:// " howeaver would almost always be there in no matter what kind of URL. Once again, I believe that this is all because of the server.

That's happening for many server issues, but it will depend where you server is pointing or where the domain name is parked and you forwarding to your web site.

Your server is probably set up to redirect all www to non-www. This is desirable not a problem so I wouldn't bother your host with it.

If this wasn't in place Google and other SE could penalise you for duplicate content as it may see the www site as different to non-www.

Leave it IMO.
