I've been trying all morning to recreate this layout. I cannot even come close.

I was wondering if someone could lend me a hand or just throw out a tip on how would be the best way to do this.

Thanks a lot, Brandon

Where are you running into a problem? Just a quick glance makes me think you need a header and two columns floated left for your general structure.

It's exactly that. I had something like this going on.

Code: [ Select ]
<html>
<head>
    <title>Kippling Baptist Church</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFCC">
<table width="100%">
<td align="center">

            <table width="98%" bgcolor="#666666" cellpadding="20">
            <td>
            <p>
            <font color="white" size="8">
            Welcome
            </p>
            </td>
            </table>
<!- ___________________________________________________________ ->
            <table width="98%" bgcolor="#669900">
            <td>
            <p>
            <font color="white" size="8">
            NavBar
            </p>
            </td>
            </table>
<!- ___________________________________________________________ ->
<br>

<table width="80%" bgcolor="white" bordercolor="#666666">

</td>
</table>

</body>
</html>
  1. <html>
  2. <head>
  3.     <title>Kippling Baptist Church</title>
  4. </head>
  5. <body bgcolor="#FFFFCC">
  6. <table width="100%">
  7. <td align="center">
  8.             <table width="98%" bgcolor="#666666" cellpadding="20">
  9.             <td>
  10.             <p>
  11.             <font color="white" size="8">
  12.             Welcome
  13.             </p>
  14.             </td>
  15.             </table>
  16. <!- ___________________________________________________________ ->
  17.             <table width="98%" bgcolor="#669900">
  18.             <td>
  19.             <p>
  20.             <font color="white" size="8">
  21.             NavBar
  22.             </p>
  23.             </td>
  24.             </table>
  25. <!- ___________________________________________________________ ->
  26. <br>
  27. <table width="80%" bgcolor="white" bordercolor="#666666">
  28. </td>
  29. </table>
  30.
  31. </body>
  32. </html>

I know I have a weird way of organising this. I am just learning but I am really trying to help my Church so I have been studying a lot of HTML but I am getting no where fast.

Where did you get that template design? Don't they just give you the code if it's a template thing?

I would get rid of the tables,

my breakdown:
make with 6 <div>'s and css to hold locations, % or px based
a Header "My Website" div,
Menu div, use table to org the links,
everything elase div with 3 divs in it,
welcome message div,
upcomming events div
and everythign right of that div, picture on top followed by text.

CSS tutorials - http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
divs? - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_div.asp

if you really want I'll make you a quick "how I would do it" .html just let me know

Yeah, that would be neat.

I have trouble with written tutorial. I am dislexic so everything I write and read on the computer is through a program.

I normally seek video tutorials.

Although, I am willing to accept anything you are willing to provide; I will simply get my cousin to read it to me.

(Extra)
Anyone willing to help me write this I would appreciate it.

I just seen a picture of it. It was not a template site.
