how do I build a member login site?

What is the goal of the site? What kind of membership site do you want?

hold on do you know about MySQL cos if you dont its going to be rather hard.

If you don't know the first thing about web application development, I'd consider looking into existing solutions as a starting point.

- If you want a complete content management system, look for software such as Joomla or Drupral.

- If you want a message board similar to the one here at Ozzu, consider using forum software such as phpBB or vBulletin.

Before I, or we in this case, could answer this question you need to answer a few questions of your own.

- Do you know php or some other programming language?
- Do you know about MySQL or other database type system?
- What kind of membership log-in system are you hoping to create?
- Do you want to use one that is already created? (Like spork mentioned) or do you want to create your own from scratch?

Based on the answers to those questions, we would be able to advise you farther on how to create your own member site. Good luck.

judging from the question, I'd reckon he doesn't know MySQL. I think spork's answer is spot on. good luck :)
