How can I remove the border from image links?

Hi I want to make one of my images a link but I dont want to make a border around it. I tried to fix this using css a {text decoration-none}
I dont know if thats exactly right but the one I had on my site is but it is not removing the line around the image. Can this be fixed with html or does it need to be css?

not to mention you can also (maybe not applicable to this scenario) put an image as the link bg something like this

top left no-repeat;
}

which is a nifty way to work into imaged rollovers
