Are there any free internet tools out there that I can check my web site with.
I think I may have caused a problem some weeks ago without knowing it because when I did a check with the tools provided with the hosting company it showed up hidden text on the site. This seemed to coincide with the same time that I disappeared off the front page of several google pages which I had been on previously.
The thing is it wasn't hidden text as such because it was white script on an orange background template. (clearly white script isn't allowed) so I changed it to black script.
Problem resolved according to the SEO checks I did but I still can't get google to recognise the site.
So how can I do a full check on the site to make sure it's google friendly so to speak?

White Script not allowed?

If that fixes your problem, please update this if it is not too much trouble ... I have white script on a design with a black background and that means I have some work ahead of me, thanks!

I think he had "hidden" text if I understand it correctly, like putting white text on a white background to add more keywords, but that'll just get google annoyed and you banned ...

It seems to me that Google has penalized your website for one reason or another. The text colour, because it is white on orange may not appear as readable and so Google is very strict on any cheating in search engine optimisation.

If you want to make sure your website as search engine friendly as possible then try checking it through W3C - they have a list of loads of checks: http://www.w3.org/ but i find the best one is the HTML validator: http://validator.w3.org/.

It checks anything that could possibly cause an error for browsers and search engines, and teaches you to clean up your page nicely. Once you've made it 'W3C Compliant' there is a link to add to your site for customers to check each page.

For example, take a look at this: http://www.crearecommunications.co.uk - right at the bottom and click on th W3C button - this links your page and tests its compatability.

Another thing is the link checker - checks if there are any dead links where a search engine won't be able to find. Or if you have Dreamweaver, right click on your site and in the 'files' section and 'check links'

Regarding to the color in your site probably google look at it as a malicious site some kind of hiding text that is malicious...even though there wasn't the appearance provoke google to think of it...

Yeah definitely get yourself a Google account and add the verifying Meta tag to your site ASAP. Once you have done this it will call Google to come and crawl your site and you might find the amendments will be updated in their index. What I would say though is it can take 2 or 3 crawls to get everything bang up to date so be patient.
I would strongly suggest not worrying for a few weeks.

Also check the cached snapshot of your pages that will tell you if the amendments have been crawled and indexed.

Obviously I can’t speak for Google but I would be surprised if your site got blacklisted just for the colour of some text. I think you would have actually with out doubt hidden loads of irrelevant keywords on your page for that.

But who knows……

As I said before in my previous post probably the looks provoke google to think malicious in the site, yeah that can be but just a small probability and that's funny somehow. It's very awkward to google to ban your site just because of the color except there is something in it...Try to avoid KW stuffing review your meta tags if there something with it that is not right to be there.
